What happened

Wiggins says he saw a light rise from the waterline while the ship's Star SAFIRE EO/IR camera showed the same object. It joined three similar objects, and all four left together at once with no sonic boom. Radar tracks dropped at the same moment. Crew filmed the SAFIRE screen. Jeremy Corbell and George Knapp published the footage in April 2025. Wiggins testified to the House Oversight task force on September 9, 2025, the first active-duty sailor to do so on UAP. The Pentagon told Fox News in 2025 that AARO had no record of the incident.

Witnesses

Senior Chief Operations Specialist Alexandro Wiggins and Combat Information Center crew, USS Jackson (LCS-6)

Explanation

Explanation proposed

Distant aircraft (proposed). Metabunk contributors matched the camera bearing to airliners at long range. A CIC operator said in an interview that a superior dismissed the first target as a distant aircraft, which was confirmed within seconds. Wiggins disputes this
