About this archive

The UAP Case Archive is an independent, non-commercial reference. It collects reported sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena, each with the witness's own words, the explanation if there is one, and the sources it comes from.

By using the site you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language on purpose.

Reports and photos you send

When you submit a report, you confirm that the account is yours and true to the best of your memory, and that you took any photos you upload or have the right to share them.

You give the UAP Case Archive permission to publish your account and photos on this site, and in posts that share or promote the archive, credited the way you chose on the form. You keep the copyright in your photos.

Reports may be edited for length and clarity, checked against other records, or not published at all. Nothing you send is published automatically.

You can ask for your report or photos to be removed at any time. Send a new report through the Submit page that says "Please delete" with the date of your original report.

Your email address is never published, shared or sold. The privacy note on the Submit page explains how reports and photos are handled.

Material from other sources

Case summaries are written for this archive. They draw on newspapers, government files, books and published investigations, which are credited and linked on every case.

Short quotations, such as a witness's description of what they saw, are used for reference and commentary. That material belongs to its owners. If you hold the rights to something quoted here and would like it changed or removed, send a note through the Submit page beginning with "Rights request", and it will be dealt with promptly.

The drawings on this site are artistic reconstructions based on witness descriptions. They are for reference only and are not photographs of the events.

How cases are labeled

Every case carries a status: Unresolved, Explanation proposed, Explained, Hoax, Disputed hoax or Aggregate report. Each status is this archive's judgment, based on the sources cited for that case at the time it was written. How it works explains each one.

"Unresolved" means no ordinary explanation has been accepted. It is not a claim that anything extraordinary happened.

"Explained", "Hoax" and "Disputed hoax" describe what the cited evidence shows. Every hoax entry names what that verdict rests on.

Labels change when new evidence appears. Corrections are welcome and are checked before anything is changed.

Accuracy and outside links

The archive aims to be accurate and to show its sources, but it is provided as is, for information. It may contain errors, and it is not professional, legal or scientific advice.

Links to other websites are provided for reference. The UAP Case Archive does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content.

Privacy
