What happened
Prigent described a narrow cylinder, tilted at about 45 degrees, moving slowly southwest with a plume of white smoke from its top. About 30 smaller red spheres, each with a yellow ring, zigzagged in pairs ahead of it. White threads fell on roofs, wires and trees, and reportedly turned gelatinous and vanished when handled. In a November 27, 1952 letter, a local doctor concluded the event was a migration of field spiders riding gossamer threads, lit by refracted sunlight. Another witness disputed this.
