What happened

Ten days after Oloron, Mrs. Dore looked up when her hens panicked. She and her neighbors saw spinning discs flying in pairs, first four then a dozen or sixteen, around a long whitish cylinder that trailed white smoke. After about twenty minutes the display ended and filaments like glass wool fell to the ground. The spider explanation offered for Oloron applies here too.

Witnesses

Mrs. Dore, 64, and her son; Mr. and Mrs. Corbières and Mr. Corbières senior; about 100 residents in total, per Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace
