Night-vision video leaked to filmmaker Jeremy Corbell shows flashing "pyramid" shapes above the destroyer. Pentagon spokesperson Susan Gough confirmed in April 2021 that Navy personnel took the video. At a May 2022 congressional hearing, Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence Scott Bray said investigators were "reasonably confident" the objects were likely drones. They reached this view by comparing a similar video taken off the Atlantic coast. Mick West showed that the pyramid shape matches bokeh, the blur pattern an out-of-focus lens gives to a point of light.
