What happened

At orbital sunrise Glenn saw a swarm of small luminous specks around his capsule, which he called "fireflies." He said they were small and seemed to come from the back of the capsule. UFO lists later turned this into three objects that followed and overtook him. Later crews made the same "snowstorm" on demand by banging on the capsule walls.
