"flying dome," "brim of a hat"The witness's own shape words

What happened

In a clearing Taylor saw what he called a "flying dome," about 20 ft across, with a rim around it that reminded him of a hat brim. Two spiked spheres rolled out, grabbed his trouser legs and pulled him toward it, and he blacked out. Police found ladder-shaped marks and holes in the ground. They recorded the case as a criminal assault, the only UFO report in Britain to become a criminal investigation, and still consider it unexplained.

Witnesses

Robert Taylor, 61, forestry worker for Livingston Development Corporation
