What happened

The 747 crew reported two small lighted objects and one huge one that followed them for over 30 minutes. Terauchi saw the large one briefly in silhouette and drew it as a giant walnut, with bulges above and below a wide flat brim, "two times bigger than an aircraft carrier." FAA and Air Force radar briefly showed a return near the jet. FAA analysts later attributed the radar return to an equipment artifact, and FAA documents described Terauchi as a "UFO repeater" who had reported sightings before. Philip Klass said a bright Jupiter sat exactly where Terauchi saw the large object.
