What this is
The UAP Case Archive is an independent, non-commercial record of reported sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena. It holds 272 cases from 1561 to 2025, sorted into fourteen shapes, each with the witness's own words, the explanation if there is one, and the sources it comes from.
It does not set out to prove that something extraordinary is in the sky, or that nothing is. The aim is to show what was actually reported, what was found later, and how firmly each answer is established, so you can judge for yourself.
Mistakes happen in any archive this size. If a date, place, quote or status looks wrong, use Suggest a correction on the case, or the form below. Corrections are checked against the sources, and the case is updated when they hold up.
How cases are handled
The witness's words come first
Every case keeps the exact shape word the witness used, even when later retellings changed it. Where the word arrived late or came from someone else, the case says so.
The explanation sits beside the account
Each case carries a status, from Unresolved to Explained, labeled by how firmly the answer is established. A good report that was later explained stays in the archive.
Every case has a source
Nothing is guessed and no names are invented. Government files, newspapers and books come first, then later investigations, all linked on the case.
A hoax needs proof
A case is marked Hoax only on a confession, an admission by someone involved, or physical evidence. Anything weaker is marked Disputed hoax, with its basis named.
How it works explains each status in full, and the terms of use cover how reports, photos and quoted material are used.
Contact
Corrections, removal requests, rights questions and press enquiries all come here. To report a sighting, please use the Submit a new case form instead, which has room for the details and photos.
